The strategic objective of Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering for Current and Future Development of a Blue Bioeconomy in Portugal – BlueBio4Future –is to place CIIMAR at the forefront of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) in Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering.
The ERA Chair holder will establish a high-performing team at CIIMAR, contributing to increasing the knowledge, attractiveness, and competitiveness of CIIMAR in the area of Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering. This will be done by attracting funds at national and international level, supporting post-graduation studies through the supervision of MSc and PhD students, producing high-quality research outputs, protecting intellectual property and transferring knowledge to stakeholders while contributing to increase literacy in the broad subject areas of Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering.
